How to Play
Tap any celestial body to choose your launch point — the green planet is your destination. Set your launch angle and thrust, then fire. Your craft flies under real gravity from every nearby star, planet, moon, and black hole. The goal isn't just to arrive; it's to arrive having taken the longest possible path. Slingshot off a gas giant, skim a sun, punch through a wormhole — the more cosmic terrain you bend, the higher your score.
FAQ
- How does scoring work?
- You earn points for the total distance your craft travels before reaching the destination. Slingshotting near large bodies, orbiting them, and traversing black holes all award bonuses. The shortest straight-line flight is the lowest score — the game rewards ambition.
- My score didn't appear on the leaderboard.
- Leaderboards require Game Center. Make sure you're signed in via Settings → Game Center on your device. If Game Center is signed out or unavailable, your score is still saved locally but cannot be submitted to the global leaderboard.
- How do I reset my progress?
- The app has no cloud account, so progress lives entirely on your device. To reset everything, delete the app and reinstall it from the App Store.
- What is the Daily Challenge?
- A special level generated from the date — every player in the world sees the same Daily Challenge each day. Complete it to extend your streak. The challenge resets at local midnight.
- Sound or haptics aren't working.
- Check that your device isn't in silent mode (the side switch or Control Center Focus setting). Confirm that SFX and Music are enabled in the app's Settings screen. Haptics require an iPhone that supports them (iPhone 7 or newer).
- The game is choppy or runs hot.
- Later levels with black-hole pairs and many bodies can be demanding. Closing other apps in the background helps. If the problem persists, please write in — include your device model and iOS version.
- Is there an Android version?
- Not currently. Galactic Drift is iOS-only today.
- Does the game collect my data?
- No. See our Privacy Policy for the full breakdown — short version: nothing leaves your device except scores you submit to Apple's Game Center.
Troubleshooting
The app crashes on launch
Make sure your device is on iOS 17 or later. If it still crashes, a full reinstall usually clears up corrupted saves: delete the app and reinstall from the App Store. (This will reset local progress.)
My save disappeared
Progress is stored on-device only. If you restored your iPhone from a backup, reinstalling the app should bring it back. Deleting the app erases all progress.
I bought a new phone — can I transfer progress?
If you restore the new phone from an iCloud or encrypted Mac backup, the app's local save will move with it. There is no manual export/import.
